Revisited: Pancake

I woke up this morning, jumped out of my blanket..
brushed my teeth, and started measuring the ingredients..
It's Sunday everybody...
And...It's time for PANCAKE!!

I know.. I know what you guys think, PANCAKE = BORING!! *well, I just can't get enough of it*
But, this one is different..
I guarantee a pancake that is fluffier, and softer than ever..

Since I have some buttermilk left in my fridge,
I modified my recipe a bit with it.
*I was praying, and hoping that it will turn out just fine*..
In fact, I was quite surprised knowing that
my pancake like I said, is even fluffier..
so.. smooth.. that it almost melted in my mouth *I'm a bit exaggerating here*..
I can't wait much longer to dive in..
 So, I stacked the pancakes.
Added a dollop of softly whipped cream *another workout for the bicep*..
and drizzled over some maple syrup = EPIC!!..

I love maple syrups..SO MUCH! It tastes better than golden syrup
I got this one, from david jones food hall for about $10.
It's huge as you can see..
This is one of the reason, I keep making pancakes..
For my sister, she deconstructed the pancake..
*I don't know since when she became a bit health conscious*
So, She sandwiched the pancakes with some greens, and leg ham..
for her lunch..
Surprisingly, It taste nice!! I have to admit..
Well done Sista!

Here is my deconstructed pancake recipe :
1 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
sugar (depends on how sweet you want it to be)
1/4 tsp salt

1 cup milk (1/2 buttermilk, and 1/2 full fat milk)
1 tbsp oil/melted butter
1 egg

 Directions :
1. Combine all the dry ingredients together, mix well
2. Make a well in the center, pour the milk, and egg,  mix until incorporated
3. Add in the oil/melted butter, mix till just combined
4. Heat up the griddle or pan, brush with a little butter or oil
5. Pour some of the mix, cook on one side
6. Flip it over, cook the other side through

So, how about you my readers, do you have any favorite dishes to start your day?

Hope you enjoy your weekend..
^^
ciao
